Psycho Goulash is the second album from London based four piece band AGASKODO TELIVEREK. Sounding like a motorway pileup involving DEERHOOF, GOGOL BORDELLO and CAPTAIN BEEFHEART, AGASKODO produce a unique mashed-up style of guitar based music which combines heavy guitar & keytar riffage with manic beats and schizoid vocals. AGASKODO TELIVEREK s line-up features the Hungarian guitar playing duo of Miki Kemecsi and Tamas Szabo, Japanese vocalist & keytar player Hiroe Takei, as well as ex-NOISETTES & occasional SEB ROCHFORD stand-in Pharoah S. Russell on drums. AGASKODO have extensively toured the UK & Europe playing alongside acts like Lightning Bolt, Max Tundra, The Mae Shi, Kap Bambino, Trencher and Les Georges Leningrad, and recently performed at the BBC Electric Proms for last years John Peel memorial concert. AGASKODO have recorded several radio sessions for BBC and Channel 4. The music video for Gay Hussar has been playlisted on MTV2. Videos of live performances & interviews have also been broadcast on ARTE in France, and on MTV (Hungarian National Television). Psycho Goulash features guest appearances from INFANTS Thomas K. Fuglesang on drums and Vezio Bacci from BIG LINDA on bass. Psycho Goulash was produced by G.P.ees & Agaskodo and mixed by Gigi Piscitelli.

“AGASKODO TELIVEREK are weird, they make frantic, electronic guitar concoctions, wear matching body hugging football uniforms… all of these things, however, somehow combine to create a super cool of-the-wall dream team of fun.” DAZED & CONFUSED

“Their self-titled debut attains a level of self conscious wrongness so wholly woven into it’s own fabric it resembles a gourmet meal in the shape of a flesh-eating virus.” PLAN B

“A band who completely blew our socks off, so much that we vowed never to go to anything that wasnt a gig ever again. Music. F**king brilliant. Agaskodo Teliverek, a name meaning Rearing Stallions in their native Hungarian, had us smitten within a few squelches of their guitars. Everything fit, the all too revealing shorts, the bad haircuts, the tight fitting t-shirts, the insane childish electro-punk rock they were playing as they wandered around the crowd, making friends.” ROCK FEEDBACK

Russell on drums. They produce a unique mashed-up style of guitar based music which they call “Psycho Goulash”, combining Dick Dale-esque guitar riffage with manic electronic beats and screeching vocals. Since releasing their self titled debut album (2006 ADAADAT) they have extensively toured the UK & Europe playing alongside acts like Les Georges Leningrad, Trencher, DAT Politics, J.G. Thirlwell, Max Tundra, Lightning Bolt, and also been Damo Suzuki’s (Can) backing band.

www.thejuniperband.com e www.myspace.com/youshouldplayinaband

Franceso Begnoni:guitar
Zeus Ferrari: drums
Laura Loriga:piano and voice
Luca Marani:he wrote and plays guitar in long lifting road
Riley Sorrells: saxophone
Gian Andrea Caruso: violin.

Precious musicians and friends who played in the cd: Enzo Cimino:bells, drums and sound engineer; Adriano Modica: guitar, bass, glockenspiel, steps and little monsters phone voices;Elisabeth Mc. Dowell: voices in Moth; Ulisse Mazzagatti: guitars in Oberkampf; Daniele Calandra: clarinets and trumpets in Moth.

History Notes

Intro:

TIME takes a cigarette, puts it in your mouth. It’s not easy to believe that David Bowie, probably the only living immortal, has seen six decades on this earth, which would be a mighty sight more drab and uninspiring without him. It’s not easy to believe he’s recorded Five Years and Golden Years and Never Get Old and all the eternally young others. To many of us he is a hero, a dude, a poet, a prophet, a shifting ball of contradictions, a great singer, a great mover and strider. An icon who always eschewed the obvious, darting down the more challenging path. Chameleon, comedian , Corinthian and caricature – and that’s just the “C”s. As Major Tom, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, the Thin White Duke, he initiated psychic jailbreaks, messed with minds, started fires. Always starting fires, even when ashes were indisputably ashes. Glam rock, plastic soul, art attacks. Jumping the silent cars, looking for a plane or two, a new dimension or three. Still he lingers; we don’t forget.

“Some flamboyant front was very useful to me,” he told me once. “I was having a blast at first.” Did people once call him “Ziggy” face-to-face? “Sure. Well, not the band – to them I was, y’know, “Dave”. But everybody else did, yes.

Everybody.” He added, “I would immerse myself. Transform into the thing I admired. Become it. Then move onto something else.”

Whatever the genre, whatever the stakes, he’s jumped in the river, holding hands. On numerous important occasions, he was the river.

“I always found myself quite sweet, and easy to work with,” he said, smoking, angular, talking, laughing, looking a lot like David Bowie. England was the muse, then America, then Germany, then the global village idiots and virtual seers. He said anything goes, before everything had gone. He took it all too far, but is now the only survivor.

We believe O Lord, we believe all the way.

Turn, and face the strange.

Brother.
